TELEMEDICINE

At North Metro Dermatology, we understand it can be difficult to coordinate a medical appointment with work, childcare, or just our busy life schedules. Telemedicine visits can be scheduled for new and existing patients. Whether you are looking to have your acne treated or a new rash evaluated, telemedicine provides a timely, convenient service without a delay in diagnosis or treatment. With most insurance companies covering telemedicine visits, you can easily schedule a visit from the comfort of your home and have prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy.

we're here... even when you can't be

Telemedicine has been used for many years to provide care those in remote locations- especially rural areas where patients have limited access to specialty care.  With the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine has become a necessity for many medical practices to continue to provide safe, yet effective care for patients. Insurance companies have also quickly adapted to allow patients access to telemedicine and provide coverage for these visits.

You can schedule telemedicine visits for new evaluation or follow-up evaluation of acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, rashes, vitiligo, as well as prescription management (such as isotretinoin monitoring or refill requests), and other conditions.

If your provider recommends a skin biopsy or other in-office procedure, this information will be reviewed with you during your online appointment.  We will coordinate a timely, in-office appointment for you.

In general, any lesion that is spontaneously bleeding, rapidly growing, and/or painful needs to be evaluated.  We will usually recommend an in-office visit for this evaluation and help you coordinate an appointment with one of our providers.

Other conditions requiring more urgent evaluation include an infected cyst, a rapidly expanding rash, a blistering rash, and/or a rash with other systemic symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or abdominal pain.

If you have a concern and are not sure whether it is urgent, please call our office.  Our kind, capable staff will be happy to triage and determine when and what type of appointment (telemedicine or in-office) would be advised.

Most insurance companies are covering telemedicine visits.  Contact your insurance company if you have any questions regarding insurance coverage.

Yes, our telemedicine platform is secure and HIPAA-compliant.  Your personal health information and any photographs that you upload or submit to us via the telemedicine platform is kept confidential.
