Skinvive™ is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) injectable to improve skin quality in the cheeks by increasing hydration and smoothing the skin. It is the first in the new category of skin boosters designed to smooth rather than volumize the skin, leaving it looking healthier and more hydrated with a radiant glow.
Unlike other HA injectables that augment the treatment area, Skinvive™ is a low-molecular-weight gel that is thinner in texture and intended as a micro-droplet injection. It does not volumize or stretch but smooths the skin as a direct result of the injection. When injected into the skin, Skinvive™ does not sit in the same position in which it has been placed. Instead, it evenly disperses into a thin layer across the dermis. Since Skinvive™ has a water-like texture, it boosts hydration instantly for complexion enhancement, creating a healthy, smooth, and glowing appearance.
Very mild discomfort is expected with the injections as a very small needle is used to place the micro-droplets of Skinvive™. Additionally, Skinvive™ contains lidocaine to minimize discomfort, and ice is also used to minimize discomfort.
Although Skinvive™ is not a hyaluronic acid filler, we advise that you follow the same pre-treatment instructions to reduce for side effects associated with hyaluronic acid injections.
Bruising, redness, and swelling may develop but are generally mild and short in duration.
Increased hydration and improvement of skin imperfections may be apparent in just a few days, but full results may not be evident for 30 days. Results typically last about 6 months.
Treatment should not be performed on:
- patients who are pregnant
- patients who are nursing
- patients who have skin that is infected or inflamed at the time of treatment
- patients who have a lidocaine allergy
