7 tips to achieve glowing skin!

We all want beautiful, bright, healthy-looking skin. But many things can derail us from our goal of achieving a glowing complexion – whether it’s our diet, stress, lack of sleep, poor skincare routine, or even just the aging process.   The good news is that by following a few simple skincare tips we can get back on track to achieving a naturally radiant complexion.

1. CLEANSE YOUR SKIN REGULARLY AND THOROUGHLY

It’s important to remove debris like dirt, oil, and makeup that may clog pores and leave dull skin. Wash your face in the morning and evening with a facial cleanser.  Apply a small amount of cleanser to your fingertips and use on your face in circular motions, working from the inside of the face out to ensure a full clean.

2. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!

Hydration is a crucial step in achieving a radiant complexion!  Whether you pick a lightweight lotion or a heavier cream, moisturizers allow you to keep your skin barrier intact which is important for healthy-looking skin. Hydration is vital in maintaining the skin’s elasticity and minimizing early signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

3. EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN TO BOOST BRIGHTNESS

Exfoliating – when done correctly- can brighten the skin and allow you to achieve the glow you want! You can opt for either a physical or chemical exfoliant, but avoid harsh scrubs that can strip the skin. Gentle scrubs can easily be used 2-3 times weekly to remove dead skin cells and visibly brighten the skin.

4. PROTECT YOUR SKIN WITH SUNSCREEN

Yes, you do need sunscreen – regardless of your skin type or color! There is no such thing as a “healthy tan.”  In fact, the opposite is true. While UV radiation is the leading cause of skin cancer, it is also responsible for skin damage that can result in other skin concerns such as sun spots, redness, fine lines, as well as dull, lackluster skin. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 and containing (at least) 5% zinc oxide provides great protection against UVA and UVB, the main ultraviolet rays responsible for skin damage.

5. DON'T FORGET ABOUT MASKS!

For a quick, instant glow, a face mask is a great way to treat yourself! You can achieve beautiful, radiant skin with a once weekly relaxing face mask.

6. BRIGHTEN YOUR SKIN WITH ACTIVE SKIN CARE INGREDIENTS, ESPECIALLY VITAMINS

Certain skincare ingredients, especially in serums or moisturizers, can help us get the glowing skin we all want.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, stimulates collagen production, and inhibits melanin production which results in the skin appearing firmer, even-tone, and more radiant.  Niacinamide (or vitamin B3) supports the skin barrier by protecting against moisture loss and dehydration, improves skin texture, and visibly evens out skin tone and discoloration from sun damage.  These vitamins provide an added boost to your skincare regimen and goal in achieving glowing skin!

7. TRY MASSAGING YOUR FACE

We all know that massages can be great to relax our muscles, but did you know that massaging your face can increase circulation to your skin and allow for a luminous complexion?  It’s true! Whether you use your hands or a jade roller, massaging your face provides stimulation to the skin and can help boost brightness.
